GF Beer Society exists to help gluten-free and celiac-aware drinkers find beer with better taste, clearer labels, and more trustworthy information.

We are not here to rubber-stamp every gluten-free claim. We are here to ask better questions, taste honestly, and help drinkers understand what they are buying.

We do not rate by popularity. We do not sell scores. We do not publish fake hype.

Our Review Lens

Each beer is reviewed through the GFBS 30-point system:

Personal Enjoyment — 10 Points

Would we actually drink it again? We consider first sip reaction, drinkability, repeat-buy potential, and whether it belongs in the fridge, cooler, cookout, or safe-beer rotation.

Craft & Execution — 10 Points

We review the beer as beer. We look at appearance, aroma, mouthfeel, flavor balance, style expectation, finish, and overall execution.

Gluten-Free Standard & Innovation — 10 Points

We look at ingredient transparency, gluten-free claims, label clarity, testing information when available, cross-contact awareness, and whether the beer moves gluten-free brewing forward.

What We Look For Beyond the Score

Numbers matter, but trust comes from the details.

GF Beer Society also considers:

Label Clarity

Can drinkers quickly tell whether the beer is gluten-free, gluten-removed, or hiding behind vague wording?

Brewery Transparency

Does the brewery share ingredients, process notes, testing information, or facility practices?

Real-World Availability

Can people actually find it — on shelves, on tap, online, or only in one lucky taproom?

Celiac-Aware Context

We flag the details that matter when “probably fine” is not good enough.

Review Independence

GF Beer Society reviews are editorial opinions. A brewery may submit beer for consideration, but submission does not guarantee review, ranking, badge, positive coverage, or guide inclusion.

Sponsored placement, advertising, donated samples, affiliate relationships, or partnerships do not control scores.

Corrections and Updates

If we publish information that becomes outdated or inaccurate, we welcome correction requests.

Brewery information, ingredients, labels, testing, distribution, and availability may change. We may update content when new information becomes available.

Respect for Breweries and Drinkers

We do not exist to trash breweries. We respect the work that goes into brewing and the needs of gluten-free drinkers.
