Review Policy
Effective Date: June 16, 2026
This Review Policy explains how GF Beer Society handles beer reviews, brewery submissions, samples, scoring, badges, sponsored content, and guide consideration.
Reviews Are Earned
A GFBS review reflects our tasting experience, review criteria, and available information at the time of review.
A beer must earn its score, badge, feature, or recommendation.
Submitting Beer for Review
Breweries, brands, distributors, retailers, and drinkers may submit beer suggestions or product information.
Submissions may include:
- Beer name
- Brewery name
- Label photos
- Ingredient list
- Gluten-free claim or certification information
- Testing information, if available
- Brewery process notes
- Availability details
- Contact information
Submission does not guarantee review, ranking, badge, positive coverage, social feature, or guide inclusion.
Donated Samples
GF Beer Society may accept donated samples for review consideration.
Accepting a sample does not guarantee coverage or positive review. Donated samples do not purchase scores, badges, rankings, or recommendations.
When appropriate, GF Beer Society may disclose that a sample was provided.
Purchased Products
GF Beer Society may also review beers we purchase ourselves.
Whether a beer is purchased or submitted, our scoring standards remain the same.
Paid Placements and Sponsorships
Paid placements, sponsorships, advertising, or partnership opportunities are separate from editorial scoring.
Sponsorship does not guarantee:
- A positive review
- A specific score
- A badge
- A ranking
- A recommendation
- Inclusion in the guide
- Removal of critical notes
Paid placements, when used, will be clearly labeled.
Badge Policy
GFBS badges are awarded when a beer stands out for a specific reason. Badges are not participation trophies.
Badge examples may include:
- Certified Celiac
- Tap It
- Hop Head Approved
- Story-Worthy Sipper
- Brewed Abroad
- Crowd Pick
- Nightcap
Badge criteria may evolve as the GFBS review system grows.
Label and Safety Notes
GF Beer Society makes reasonable efforts to evaluate label language, gluten-free claims, ingredient disclosures, and brewery-provided information.
We are not a testing lab, certifying agency, medical provider, or regulatory authority.
Drinkers should verify current product information directly with the brewery, manufacturer, or retailer before consuming.
Corrections
If you believe a review contains outdated or incorrect information, contact us with the specific correction and supporting details.
GF Beer Society may update content when appropriate but does not guarantee removal of opinions, scores, or review language.
Editorial Integrity
Our priority is trust with gluten-free and celiac-aware drinkers.
Scores are earned. Labels matter. Transparency matters. The drinker comes first.
